📢 Symposium Announcement Local System Dynamics for Sustainable Land Use Transitions\
🗓️ 16 May 2025 💻 Online

We’re excited to announce that Tommaso Brazzini from the Universidad de Valladolid will present the RethinkAction Local System Dynamics Model at the upcoming Europe-LAND Symposium: “Sustainable Land Use and Land Management: Emerging Trends, Current Challenges, and European Solutions.”

In his talk, Tommaso will introduce a dynamic, multisectoral model designed to capture the complex feedbacks between land use, energy, water, food systems, and greenhouse gas emissions. With land facing mounting pressure from competing needs — especially in light of the energy transition — this model provides a valuable framework for assessing the broad impacts of various Land use-based Adaptation and Mitigation Solutions (LAMS).

The session will highlight:

🔸 The model’s structure and integrated components
🔸 Preliminary insights from the RethinkAction case studies
🔸 Its potential for replication and participatory application in other regions

Join the symposium to explore how systems thinking can support locally grounded, cross-sectoral climate solutions, and build more resilient communities across Europe.
